“One component of leadership involves displaying balance between responsibilities.  This workshop will focus on skills to help you manage life stressors, navigate conflict, and balance school, life, and work.  Come learn how to incorporate wellness into your leadership style.”

About me: Gaylyn Gaddy Maurer has her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver, and is currently the Outreach Counselor at University of Houston Wellness.  She enjoys working with college students, andencouraging them to make good choices across a range of behaviors.

"Creating a Shared Vision" - a shared vision within an organization can help to provide direction, common goals, and ultimately, success for a group. Learn about the 5 components of shared vision, and how you can use these in your leadership role to increase the effectiveness of your organization. In celebration of Black History Month, we will look at a portion of Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech as an example of one of the most powerful shared visions in our nation's history. This session will be presented by Joseph Maurer, Student Activities Program Manager. Friday, February 27 from noon - 2pm, room A116 (Wellness Center area). Lunch will be provided for the first 20 students that RSVP.
